‘Sabors del Camp i de la Mar’ (loosely translating as ‘Flavours of the Land and Sea’) takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am until 9.00pm at the exhibition centre (Recinto Ferial) in Ibiza town. Traditional Balearic cuisine will be on offer alongside international flavours as part of a two day celebration of Ibiza’s local products and diverse culinary scene.
Featuring demonstrations, workshops and tastings, the festival will see some of the island’s most respected chefs using local produce in innovative new ways. Among the highlights are acclaimed sushi chef, Hideki Aoyama, who will prepare a selection of nigiri, maki and gunkan using local winter fish such as cuttlefish, gerret, horse mackerel, pajel and prawn, while Francisco Javier Marí, chef at Can Gat, one Ibiza’s most popular restaurants, will demonstrate the applications of olive oil in Ibizan cuisine.
Entrance to the festival is free. Gastronomes get ready . . .
