The airwaves between the UK and Ibiza faced disruption recently due to a technical glitch within the British air traffic control system. This hiccup led to the cancellation of ten flights at Ibiza Airport, affecting both departing and arriving journeys connected to the UK. Five outbound and five inbound flights were axed, leaving many travellers in limbo. This issue had a broader impact, cancelling over 400 flights across major UK gateways like Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham, with further repercussions at Jersey, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Southampton, Belfast, and Edinburgh airports. However, NATS, the UK air traffic control service, has since restored operations, and sources from Aena confirm that normality has resumed at Balearic airports as of Wednesday.
