Ibiza's port was a lively scene as four cruise ships docked for the first time this summer, bringing over 7,900 passengers to the island. Among them was the lavish Scenic Eclipse II, followed by Silver Shadow, Costa Smeralda, and Oceania Cruises' Nautica. Despite the influx, the port managed to avoid the chaos, thanks to strategic disembarkation schedules. Notably, Costa Smeralda was the largest vessel, accommodating up to 6,554 passengers. While some tourists opted for organized excursions, others chose to explore independently, leading to long queues under the fierce Ibiza sun. Economic impact on local businesses was mixed; some shopkeepers reported a surge in customers, while others saw minimal spending. With a reduced peak in cruise passenger numbers this year, the island's infrastructure handled the traffic efficiently, supported by active management from Port Authorities.
