Talamanca's iconic posidonia seagrass meadows are poised for a major environmental comeback thanks to an innovative collaboration between the Balearic Government and Valencia-based Absorbe CO2, with marine biology expertise from Manu San Félix's association, Vellmarí. This initiative aims to rehabilitate one hectare of the once-thriving underwater ecosystem by converting these efforts into certified blue carbon credits. These efforts are not just for conservation, but also open new avenues for responsible investment. Over the next two years, the project plans to deeply transform Talamanca's seabeds, with a strategic methodology aimed at considerable carbon absorption, pending approval for an eco-mooring zone to safeguard ongoing restoration activities from boat anchorage damage. Such conservation actions have fueled anticipation among eco-conscious investors and tourists alike, offering hope for sustainable environmental recovery that benefits both nature and local tourism in Ibiza.
