The Association of Vacation Tourist Homes of Ibiza (AVAT) has highlighted the island's ongoing struggle to maintain family tourism amidst rising accommodation costs and a shift towards luxury and adults-only hotels. At their XII Congress, held at the Hotel Torre del Mar, AVAT emphasized the diminishing presence of family tourists, a segment which constitutes nearly half of their clientele, and which has been steadily declining in areas like Portinatx. AVAT President José Antonio Llano stressed the importance of working alongside local authorities to preserve this crucial market. Further discussions at the conference addressed the challenges posed by illegal accommodations and the role of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing rental management. The event underscored the need for strategic adjustments to better align supply with growing demand, amidst regulatory hurdles and last-minute bookings defining the recent tourist season.
