Inside Ibiza's Legendary DJ Booths: The Heartbeat of the Island's Club Scene

Ibiza, the electric playground for UK tourists, is world-renowned not just for its sun-drenched beaches and dance-till-dawn parties, but also for legendary DJ booths that are the heart of its iconic club scene. Each booth has its own character, with some offering a close, intimate vibe while others tower over the party, creating an electrifying spectacle that sets the rhythm of the island. The design and placement of these DJ sanctuaries are not just aesthetic considerations, they shape the entire party experience, facilitating a magnetic connection between DJs and the crowd.

Some clubs, like the celebrated Eden Ibiza on the Sunset Coast, are famous for their immersive setups, allowing revellers to feel every thump and pulse of the music courtesy of its Void Acoustics Gold Incubus sound system, often claimed to be the most powerful in Ibiza. Meanwhile, spots like Pacha and Amnesia deliver elevated, theatrical staging that draws eyes skyward, crafting unforgettable nights.

It's here, in these mythical booths, where Ibiza's music magic comes alive, with UK clubbers travelling far and wide to be part of this unmatched sensation. Whether you're dancing close to the beats at Eden Ibiza or gazing up at the DJ maestros in Amnesia, Ibiza's DJ booths are more than just a stage, they are the very essence of the island's legendary nightlife.

Cala Llonga's Iconic Flipper's: A British Favourite in Ibiza

Cala Llonga's Iconic Flipper's: A British Favourite in Ibiza

Since opening its doors in 2003, Flipper's Bar in Cala Llonga has become a cherished spot for both locals and tourists on the island of Ibiza. Founded by José Ortiz, a man whose journey on the island began in a tent at just 15, Flipper's initially gained popularity as a ‘typical Brit hangout’. During the pandemic, a surge in popularity among locals for their roast beef offering helped Flipper's thrive despite challenging times. The restaurant also maintains a beloved tex-mex menu, with tacos being a particular favourite. Through the years, Ortiz has witnessed the shift from family tourism to shorter party-focused stays, though long-standing bonds have been forged with returning British families who span generations. The bar continues to uphold its family-friendly charm, complete with a humorous sign cautioning parents about unruly children. Now, under the guidance of José’s son Samuel, Flipper's is poised to continue its legacy as a beloved fixture in the evolving landscape of Ibiza's tourism scene.

New Vehicle Limits Introduced in Ibiza and Formentera: What Tourists Need to Know

New Vehicle Limits Introduced in Ibiza and Formentera: What Tourists Need to Know

A major change in how you get around Ibiza has kicked in, with new rules limiting the number of rental cars available during the peak tourist season. Starting this Monday, officials have enforced a cap on vehicles entering both Ibiza and its sister island Formentera, setting a provisional limit for rental cars at 14,000 per day for Ibiza. This regulation, now in its second year, pinches the car rental sector which is forced to operate near capacity to meet high demand, according to Cristóbal Herrera, the head of the Balearic Association of Car Rentals Without a Driver. Tourists arriving with their own vehicles also face restrictions, capped at 3,548 daily entries for non-residents. Visitors planning a sun-soaked escape might find it trickier to explore the island if they haven't pre-booked a car, especially as the tourist influx peaks in July and August. This could mean weaving through alternatives like public transport or hiring other forms of mobility, although these options remain limited. The rules, aiming to curb vehicle crowding and improve traffic flow, will be in place until the end of September. While the full impact of these changes is yet to be seen, the priority remains balancing the island’s transport requirements, making sure residents and workers can get around amidst soaring tourist numbers.
