This past Sunday, the cultural heart of Ibiza pulsed with life at the Institut d’Estudis Eivissencs' Mencions Sant Jordi ceremony held at Caló de s’Oli. Drawing together enthusiasts and cultural figures from across the island, it was an event to remember. With masterful hosting by Neus Cardona Ribas and Maria Tur Ribas, the evening seamlessly blended cultural recognitions with musical interludes. L’arannà captivated the crowd with tracks from their debut album, 'La Salamandra', and previewed pieces from their forthcoming work, 'Turmarí', deeply rooted in the musical traditions of the Pitiüses. Santiago Colomar Ferrer was honoured for his distinguished contributions to Formentera's historical research, while the digital Revista 078 received accolades for its contemporary insights into Ibizan culture. In a nod to emerging talents, the Grup de Teatre Júnior des Cubells was praised for nurturing Catalan theatre among young audiences since 2018. Events like this celebrate Ibiza's unique blend of heritage and innovation, ensuring its cultural pulse remains as vibrant as its legendary nightlife.
