In a bid to safeguard Ibiza and Formentera's stunning landscapes and marine life, IbizaPreservation has channelled over €700,000 into environmental projects in the Pitiusas for 2025, marking a 12% increase from last year. This substantial funding supports initiatives such as protecting the endangered Pitiusa lizard and planting 1,350 fruit trees across the islands. Despite a slight drop in fundraising to €772,000, events and collaborations have significantly contributed to their efforts. The ongoing research into marine ecosystems highlights the challenges facing these paradises, including the degradation of posidonia oceanica meadows and marine plastic pollution. The foundation's international reach shines in their participation in the Marine Forum and collaboration on marine crime research, working towards a sustainable future for these beloved holiday destinations.
