Ibiza experienced a surge in public transport usage on 12 August, aligning with the solar eclipse. The island's bus services reported 42,920 passengers, marking a 12% increase compared to previous August records. This boost was notably prominent on the T5 line, between Santa Eulària and Sant Antoni, which saw a 211.6% rise with 601 more passengers than the day before. The T1 (Ibiza-Sant Rafel-Sant Antoni) and T2 (Ibiza-Sant Josep-Sant Antoni) lines also saw significant upticks in demand, with additional increases of 12.6% and 13.3% respectively. Only the T3 line reported modest growth. The Consell d’Eivissa enhanced specific routes to accommodate the expected crowds, with the T5's astonishing growth confirming a successful response to the celestial event's draw. These figures underscore the island's dynamic atmosphere, as tourists flock to enjoy unique events that make Ibiza a must-visit destination.
