As the Ibiza season moves through late September, new statistics reveal a subtle transformation in the island's tourist dynamics. While German and Spanish visitors have decreased, British, Belgian, and French travellers have shown an uptick. This change comes amid a largely steady occupancy level, akin to last year, with only a marginal increase since April. Hotel industry leaders note that despite a slight downturn in longer stays, Ibiza's allure remains strong with high demand in August and September. Interestingly, the trend of last-minute bookings and cost-sensitive decisions adds complexity for hoteliers striving to manage profitability over mere occupancy. With over €2.5 billion in tourist spending recorded by July, Ibiza's challenge is evolving: extending the season into April, May, September, and October. Meeting this goal requires strategic planning, highlighting the need for maintained transport links and a robust slate of events and services well beyond the summer months.
