Celebrating a Century: Iconic Ibiza Spirit Brand Honoured

Celebrating a Century: Iconic Ibiza Spirit Brand Honoured

Toast to tradition and taste as Ibiza's renowned Licores Aniseta is celebrated for its rich 100-year history of crafting iconic island spirits. This week, the beloved brand was honoured at the XII Foro de Emprendedores Ingenion for its significant contributions to Ibiza's business community. Starting from a small shop near the bustling Ibiza port in 1925, founder José Ferrer's passion led to the creation of a distinguished distillery famous for its traditional elixirs. From rosemary and anise to the signature hierbas ibicencas, the Ferrers have crafted beloved flavours for decades. Today, the legacy continues under David Ferrer, representing the fourth generation, who took the helm this year, promising a blend of innovation and experienced stewardship. While the product line has evolved with changing tastes, Licores Aniseta remains a pillar of classic Ibizan culture. Cheers to a century of memories and the many more to come.

Ibiza, known for its sun-drenched beaches and world-famous nightlife, poses a significant challenge for those seeking temporary housing. A social media user recently highlighted the island's staggering rental prices, drawing attention to a listing that advertised a single room for a jaw-dropping 2,000 euros per month. The situation has left many workers struggling, as savings from a hard season on the island are quickly depleted by rent. Despite seeing numerous vacant units, particularly outside peak months, the rental market remains unforgiving, creating a barrier for those seeking to enjoy or work on this celebrated island.

Ibiza Set for a Calm Weekend as Storm Bruna Misses Its Shores

As the second storm of the season, Bruna, makes its way to Spain, UK tourists in Ibiza can breathe a sigh of relief. The storm, named by the Portuguese Meteorological Service, is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds to areas like Portugal, Galicia, and Madrid. However, for Ibiza, the impact will be minimal. This Saturday, the island will experience some cloudy intervals with the possibility of light and isolated showers in the afternoon. Temperatures at night might dip slightly, though daytime readings will remain stable. By Sunday, a similar pattern is expected, with minor chances of rain and temperatures possibly peaking at a pleasant 23 degrees Celsius. Warnings of significant weather changes are primarily for mainland Spain, not affecting Ibiza’s laid-back weekend vibe. Visitors should stay updated on weather forecasts and heed any civil protection advice, but can largely continue to enjoy the island’s sun-drenched allure.
