Ibiza is setting its sights on encouraging UK visitors to extend their holidays on the island. During recent discussions at the World Travel Market in London, Ibiza’s local government, led by President Vicent Marí, engaged with representatives from British tour operators TUI and Jet2. Both companies anticipate ongoing strong interest from UK tourists, comparable to the past season's results. TUI's alignment with Ibiza's promotional strategies was confirmed, emphasizing attracting higher-quality tourists and enhancing visitor satisfaction rather than merely increasing tourist numbers. TUI noted a shift in booking patterns among UK travelers, with a trend towards later holiday bookings. The discussions also highlighted the island's aspiration to lengthen tourist stays, as increased airport arrivals haven't translated into longer hotel stays. Ibiza's tourism office introduced initiatives like 'Ibiza Revelada' and underscored cultural and sporting events spanning the extended tourist season, now from April to November, to elevate visitor experience and economic yield. Strategies involving artificial intelligence and sustainable practices, including vehicle entry limits and improved public transport, were also discussed to bolster the island's tourist model.
