The island's weather service, Aemet, has issued an orange alert for Wednesday, from midday to early evening, signalling the peak of this intense heat. Daytime temperatures won't drop below 22°C, while highs will surpass 33°C, creating a sweltering feel due to high humidity. Those travelling to the northern parts of the island, in particular, might encounter the hottest conditions. The advice is to stay hydrated, seek shade, and relish the heat safely as breezes from the south offer slight relief.
