Ibiza's Tourism Spend Jumps 12% as British Clubbers Spend Big

In May, the start of the official tourist season, Ibiza and Formentera have seen a significant 12% rise in tourist spending. British visitors contributed to a total expenditure of over €528 million, with an average spend per tourist reaching €1,081, up 8.5% from the previous year. Despite a slight annual increase in daily spending, the average holiday duration has also extended to 4.7 days. In the first five months of the year, over two million overnight stays were recorded, marking an 11.5% increase driven by international tourists while visits from British tourists saw a minor decline of 3%. However, with a robust accommodation activity and more nights booked by international travelers, the season has a promising start. Across the Balearic Islands, over 5.4 million tourists have visited from January to May, signaling a 3.26% growth, with Mallorca leading the surge. German tourists still lead in spending despite a minor dip, while French visitors have surged by over 22%.
