As the summer season kicks into high gear, Ibiza's local police force is ramping up their efforts to ensure a safe experience for both tourists and residents. A newly introduced fourth shift is now operational, designed specifically to bolster security during the island's peak months. This additional patrol will sweep across prime tourist zones from 19:00 to 03:00, overlapping with the end of afternoon and start of night activities. Led by a senior officer and supported by four agents, this strategy focuses on increasing police visibility where crowds gather the most. The initiative promises to enhance safety and security for all those soaking up Ibiza's legendary nightlife.

Italian Tourist's Holiday Derailed by Major Theft in Ibiza

An Italian visitor's dream getaway to Ibiza turned problematic after a significant theft incident marred the experience. Valuables including a Saint Laurent bag, multiple electronics, and all clothing were taken while their vehicle was parked at a busy public car park near the Multicines. The victim described a distressing return to their car, finding a shattered driver's window and a plundered boot. Despite the setback, the visitor highlighted rare feelings of danger during their stay and acknowledged the charm of Ibiza and Formentera. After discovering the theft, the tourist immediately reported to the nearby National Police station, expecting swift action. However, they were met with limited support and a delay in filing a report. Left to their devices, the couple attempted to trace the stolen items via GPS with no outcome, leaving them to return with a memorable yet bittersweet holiday narrative and reluctance to revisit Ibiza.
