This past Sunday was marked by blistering heat, with the thermal sensation peaking at an astonishing 49 degrees in Sant Joan de Labritja, making it the hottest spot in the Balearics! Other popular destinations suffered similarly sweltering conditions, with Sant Antoni feeling like 44 degrees, Santa Eulària des Riu at 42, and Eivissa not far behind at 38 degrees. Even the often cooler Formentera recorded a steamy 34 degrees. Despite actual temperatures staying slightly lower, the stifling humidity means it felt much hotter—posing a challenge for those venturing outdoors. To stay safe, Aemet advises minimising sun exposure during peak hours, keeping hydrated, and limiting strenuous activity, especially for the elderly, young, and those with chronic conditions.
