This week, the scenic cliffs of Sa Penya in Ibiza are undergoing a significant clean-up operation. Local authorities embarked on this challenging task to clear accumulated waste from this hard-to-reach area, with efforts beginning bright and early. The clean-up is expected to take around two days, though it could extend depending on the amount of rubbish discovered. Previous similar efforts saw the removal of about 30 tonnes of waste, so expectations are set for a hefty haul this time as well. Once extracted, the waste will be ferried away by sea from the bay. The council warns that uncontrolled dumping can lead to fines as steep as €30,000, as they continue efforts to maintain and rehabilitate sensitive areas on the island.
