Ibiza itself sizzled at 27.9°C, registering 2.8°C above average. The spike in temperatures marks the hottest July since 1961. Meanwhile, Formentera experienced similar heat, averaging 28.2°C. The Ibiza heatwave from the 6th to the 9th hit unprecedented highs, with Sant Antoni and Sant Joan de Labritja reaching a scorching 40.2°C, the hottest on record. Tourists will note that July saw no rainfall, a sharp reduction from the usual 4 litres per square metre, as all weather stations reported 31 consecutive hot days. So, while Ibiza's allure endures, visitors might want to pack plenty of sunscreen and be ready for a hot, dry summer escape.
