Ibiza and Formentera's tourist season is kicking off with favourable numbers as hotel occupancy rates for early May reached 66%, up from the same period in 2025. Despite global uncertainties and an increasing trend of last-minute bookings, optimism remains high for a busy summer. The early arrival of Easter seemingly influenced shorter stays and spontaneous reservations, but hotels still reached full occupancy during festive periods. Despite varying opening times for accommodation providers, the outlook remains positive, with anticipation of a season comparable to or exceeding that of 2025. Industry experts note a shift towards shorter, more frequent visits over the weekends, emphasising the importance of quality and unique experiences over merely competitive pricing. With air connectivity robust and the destinations' appeal as a safe zone amidst geopolitical tensions, the Pitiusas Islands anticipate a dynamic summer, although they remain vigilant towards global developments that could impact tourism flows.
