In a recent social media buzz, a video proclaiming 'When you touch Es Vedrà, the energy of Ibiza is yours' has reignited discussions about the dos and don'ts surrounding this iconic rock formation. The footage shows two adventurers striving to reach and touch the mystical rock while Coldplay's tunes play in the background. Comments from viewers vary, with some suggesting that such actions are illegal, while others argue the opposite.
The Conselleria de Agricultura, Pesca y Medio Natural clarified that although disembarking at Es Vedrà without permission is not allowed, touching the rock itself isn't prohibited. As part of the protected maritime-terrestrial reserve, Es Vedrà is a sanctuary for seabirds and unique species like the local lizard.
This fascination with accessing the 'energy of Ibiza' has occasionally led to risky endeavors, such as the attempted swim by an Argentinian visitor in 2016, which ended with a rescue operation after hours at sea. Social media platforms continue to showcase people onboard luxury excursions enthusiastically embracing the rock, describing the experience as 'shamanic' and 'energy recharging'.
