Summer has officially arrived in Ibiza, with the season kicking off at 10:24 am on Sunday, 21 June, and set to extend until 23 September, according to Spain's national meteorological agency, Aemet. While many visitors relish this time as a hallmark of holidays, locals gear up for a busy few months. Coinciding with the start of summer, a significant heatwave is sweeping across Spain, reaching its peak just in time for the Nit de Sant Joan celebration on 23 June. Aemet has issued a yellow alert for high temperatures on this Sunday, expected to last until 7 pm. Thermometers are set to hit highs between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius, possibly soaring to 32 degrees in areas like Sant Antoni and Sant Joan. With mostly clear skies and mild to moderate easterly and northeasterly winds, the intense summer heat might be paradise for sun-seekers, while others might find it less than idyllic.
