IGY Ibiza Marina, the newly appointed operator for accommodating large yachts at Ibiza's port, has seen its berths fill 85% of their 27 spots in July, following a 70% occupancy in June. According to Constanza Centeno, the company's GM, this marks a promising start to the season. Ibiza's appeal as a prominent Mediterranean nautical destination is central to this venture, with hopes of extending its prominence beyond summer. The marina stays open year-round supporting yachts between 20 to 150 meters long, with the most requested sizes being 50 to 60 meters. This hub of nautical activity has spurred direct and indirect employment through upgrades and its overall influence on the port area. Comprehensive renovations, completed last July, included expanding mooring facilities and enhanced power connections for these majestic vessels. Centeno emphasized the goal to mitigate seasonality by drawing yachts throughout the year. The marina seamlessly collaborates with local authorities and is integrated into Ibiza's community through cultural events. Under an eight-year concession that began in March 2024, this joint venture operates an extensive area designed to maintain Ibiza's status as a leading destination.
