UK clubbing tourists with a love for the sunny paradise of Ibiza, take note: both Ibiza and its sister island, Formentera, are currently on red alert due to an exceptionally high risk of wildfires. This elevated threat level, the highest possible for forest fires, calls for heightened caution across the islands this weekend. In light of this, all burning activities within 500 metres of wooded areas are strictly banned. Permissions previously granted for burning agricultural waste have been revoked. Additionally, the use of fireworks is prohibited except in urban areas far from forests. This weekend's conditions have led to almost the entirety of the Balearic Islands being on high alert, although parts of Mallorca will see a reduced yellow alert by Saturday. However, Ibiza and Formentera will remain on red alert, advising all visitors to prioritise safety while enjoying their visit.
