Farewell to an Ibiza Icon: Es Pi Ver Bids Adieu

Farewell to an Ibiza Icon: Es Pi Ver Bids Adieu

In the heart of Sant Miquel, a beloved chapter of local tradition has come to a close as Es Pi Ver, a charming and cherished café, shut its doors for the final time this Monday. Known for its warm ambiance and rich tapestry of memories woven over three decades, Es Pi Ver was more than just a café; it was a gathering point where locals and tourists alike shared stories over coffee or a frosty beer.

Established in 1992 by Vicent Torres and Margarita Guasch, the establishment was named in homage to an old pine tree, Es Pi d’en Noguera, that once stood in the area. Over the years, it became a beloved symbol, drawing generations to its welcoming embrace.

The closure evoked a poignant farewell, with patrons expressing gratitude towards Pepe Torres, the esteemed manager who helmed the café's recent era. Despite an upcoming transition to a new business with fresh ideas, the artful contributions of past owner Margarita Guasch were fondly remembered.

Regulars like Toni and Bartolo reminisced about decades spent within its walls, with many recognising it as a vital piece of Sant Miquel’s spirit. Even as change is on the horizon, Es Pi Ver’s legacy will linger as a pivotal cultural cornerstone for the island's community and its visitors yearning for a taste of authentic Ibizan life.
