Visitors to the sun-drenched shores of Ibiza may find their beach plans disrupted as Sant Antoni officials have temporarily closed s’Arenal Beach. A blockage in the local sewage system, specifically a malfunction at the pumping station, led to a spill impacting the bathing area. This issue originated from a piece of iron obstructing the pump's function. Local authorities have launched immediate safety protocols, including hoisting a red flag to prevent swimming, while urgent water quality tests are underway. Efforts are being made to repair the system and clean the affected zone with rigorous disinfection methods, ensuring the beach is safe for visitors again soon.
